St. Ladislas Respect For Life Ministry Goals

  1. To coordinate the Implementation of "Choose Life" Instruction in the Parish's PSR Program fro Grades 6 through 8
    bullet Review the "Choose Life" course material with a Right To Life representative and determine all relevant aspects of delivering this instruction
    bullet Develop outline of course content and/or teaching objectives together with suggested alternatives for classroom delivery
    bullet Coordinate introduction of "Choose Life" instruction for the 2001-2002 school year
    bullet Develop detailed implementation plan to include actual dates for classroom delivery and written feedback from students
    bullet Accomplish instruction, student feedback reviewed and evaluated, institutionalize coordination procedure for future annual training

  2. To promote an ever-expanding Respect for Life Environment within the parish community on a continual basis - specific desired outcomes include:
    bullet Inclusion of weekly Respect for Life reflections and factual messages in the church bulletin
    bullet Inclusion of weekly Respect for Life petitions within the celebration of daily/weekly masses
    bullet Periodic Respect for Life homilies (in October and January), based on the encyclical "Evangelism Vitae" promoting the culture of life versus the current culture of death in the United States
    bullet Periodic adult education opportunities to explore/discuss today's issues on abortion and infanticide, euthanasia, and assisted suicide
    bullet Establishment of a permanent bulletin board / display area dedicated to Respect for Life issues and direct assistance information
    bullet Fundraisers for local crisis pregnancy centers
    1. Meet with Fr. Don Snyder and review above desired outcomes - determine parish staffing procedures and desirability of having a staff member as a mentor/liason for further detailed planning
    2. Break out above outcomes into separate sub-goals for implementation and planning as determined necessary
