1995 marked the 900th anniversary of the death
of King Ladislas I, of the
House of Árpád, who was born in 1040, reigned from 1077-1095, and was canonized in 1192.
He was one of the three "Hungarian royal saints " -- the kings Saint Stephen and
Saint Ladislas , and Prince Emericus , Stephen's canonized son .
